Businesses & Non-Profits: Enter your scarecrow and join the fun! The public will vote, prizes will be awarded, and your creation will be displayed around town in Douglas, Wyoming.
Event Dates: October 18–28
Winners Announced: On or before Halloween 🎃
Judging Categories: Creativity & Originality, Use of Business Theme, and Eye-Catching Appeal — each scored up to 10 points for a total of 30!

Go back in time and learn about the area’s rich history at the Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum and Douglas Railroad Interpretive Center. Fort Fetterman and Camp Douglas WWII P.O.W. camp will also interest history buffs. Plan a picnic by the awe-inspiring Ayres Natural Bridge or go for a hike in the sprawling grasslands and forests of Thunder Basin. If you’re here in early August, don’t miss the rides and rodeo at the Wyoming State Fair.

Welcome to Converse County, Wyoming! While you're here you can take some time to discover the area sites. In Douglas, you'll want to visit the historic downtown area where you can dine, shop and snap a photo with the jackalope statue in Jackalope Square. You can also stop by the visitors center to pick up a visitors guide or map. Glenrock has an amazing dinosaur museum, a historic hotel & dining room called the Hotel Higgins an expansive city park with a historic train bridge over the river. There is a lot more to explore too. We hope you enjoy your visit!
