Position Overview

The Summer Glenrock Visitor Center & Gift Shop Assistant serves as the welcoming face of Glenrock. This role provides information to visitors, promotes local attractions and events, and supports daily operations of the Glenrock Visitor Center and retail space.

This position runs from the end of May through August and averages approximately 20 hours per week.

Visitor Services

  • Greet visitors warmly and provide exceptional customer service
  • Share information about local attractions, events, history, dining, and lodging
  • Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries
  • Distribute maps, brochures, and promotional materials
  • Promote upcoming community events and activities

Gift Shop Operations

  • Operate the cash register and handle sales transactions accurately
  • Restock merchandise and maintain organized displays
  • Assist with inventory tracking and pricing
  • Keep the retail area clean, neat, and inviting
  • Help create appealing seasonal or event-themed displays

General Duties

  • Open and/or close the Glenrock Visitor Center as scheduled
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping, dusting, and light organizing
  • Assist with preparing materials for events or promotions
  • Track visitor numbers and complete basic daily reporting
  • Support special summer events when needed

Qualifications

  • Friendly, positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to handle money responsibly
  • Knowledge of Glenrock and surrounding area, or willingness to learn
