Ice Skating

Ice Skating is an iconic winter activity and Douglas has a great spot for families to gather on the ice at the Douglas Ice Area at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds. During  winter weekends open skate is available on Saturday’s and Sundays from 1-3pm. Ice skates are available for rent.

Douglas is also home to Douglas Youth Hockey which hosts several games and tournaments each year bringing visitors from across Wyoming to Converse County.

Winter is a great time to indulge your cravings and enjoy some down home comfort food!

The Depot in Douglas or the Fort Diablo in Glenrock offers hearty steaks, burgers and fantastic homemade soups. Mexican food goes great with chilly weather and LaCosta is one of the best in Wyoming and a favorite among the locals.

Everyone craves a hot beverage to keep away the winter chill! There are several options to stay warm. Blend Coffee & Co, the Whistle Stop Mercantile, Kodi Rae's Coffee Shop and Bakery and Blessed Beans in Douglas offer a warm and inviting atmosphere to gather together and keep the cold away while enjoying a piping hot cup of specialty coffee or tea. 

If you are looking for something unique try out the Paisley Shawl where you can enjoy fine dining in a historic setting. Four Seasons Chinese offers yummy asian cusine in Douglas. Or if you are in the mood for train themed food Penny's Diner might be a fun option.
