The Converse County Tourism and Promotion Board (CCTPB) seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization in promoting Converse County as a premier destination for local travelers, events, and tourism.

We seek an aggressive self-starter and motivated leader who can strategically work with partners to market Converse County, enhance communication efforts, and plan and execute successful strategies to drive economic growth and enhance the visitor experience.
This is a newly created part-time position with an estimate of 20 hours a week. The position will report to the Converse County Tourism and Promotion Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and supervise the implementation of an annual operating and marketing plan to promote Converse County to local, state, regional, national, and international audiences.
- Attend all meetings of the Board, and other designated committees in an advisory, non-voting capacity. Prepare public notices for all meetings.
- Establish and maintain ongoing effective communication with local businesses, government leaders, business and cultural institution leaders, event planners, and the local tourism industry.
- Represent the Board at selected local, state, regional, and national conference and conventions that serve to foster the betterment of the Board’s mission.
- Keep and maintain a calendar of events and keep the Board members apprised of upcoming events and deadlines.
- Keep the Board apprised of trainings and meetings regarding tourism.
- Develop and maintain effective organizatonal policies and ensures all Board activities are implemented within established policies, guidelines, laws, and ethical standards.
- Monitor and direct all emails and phone calls on behalf on the Board.
- Prepare and submit applications for external grant funding requests. Prepare necessary reporting requirements for external funding.
- Prepare and discuss activity reports for the Board of Directors Meetings.
- Work with the Board Treasurer and CPA to prepare and manage the budget effectively, strategically allocating resources to achieve organization objectives.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to public officials, committees, community groups, and the media.
- Work with Board and Web Consultant, monitor the CCTPB web page and work with contractors for web development, requests, maintenance, needs, etc.
- Work with the Board’s marketing team to update and distribute the annual Travel Guide in the County.
- Work with partners such as Wyoming Office of Tourism, Local Government Agencies, State Fair, and non-profits.
- Work with companies for media and filming opportunities in Converse County.
- Work with the Board’s Chair to prepare all meeting agendas.
- Monitor, repair and replace promotional material and signage as necessary.
- Work with Board to keep informed of the lodging tax renewal.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, Tourism, or a related field.
- The hiring committee will also consider knowledge, experience, and skills in lieu of education, where applicable.
- Previous tourism sales, promotion and marketing, or hospitality sales and marketing experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions is required.
- Valid Driver’s License is required. Some travel is necessary.
- Willing to gain general knowledge of the City of Douglas, Town of Glenrock and Converse County.
