Abundant fishing opportunities exist across the county. In addition to the public fishing available on U.S. Forest Service property and along the North Platte River, guided trips are available.
Outdoorsmen and women are also drawn to the county’s abundant wildlife. Converse County is home to elk, antelope, black bear and numerous smaller creatures.
Ayers Natural Bridge and Park is a beautiful public park nestled in the bottom of a stunning red-rock canyon just 15 minutes from Douglas. It's only five minutes off I-25 and totally free. This location is a favorite site for outdoor weddings and company picnics.
